Cardboard Banquet at Cambridge University

by pleatfarmer on November 9, 2009

The Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge recently played host to an event called the Cardboard Banquet in which students were asked to design and erect a temporary paper pavilion as part of an architecture studio called Bricolage. The pavilion was made entirely of folded cardboard and assembled within three days, and later followed by a public banquet which was fittingly serenaded by an accordionist.

Thanks to Stuart for this update.

hi, I’m editing the new Holland Paper Biennial book and I wondered if you can mail me some photo’s with clear subtitles of your cardboard banquet.
I would like to add them to the gallery part of my book.
The design of the Biennial book makes the book into a piece of paper art, all 7 previous books have won design awards.
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter, actually the best person to contact for images would be University of Cambridge’s Architecture Department. If you read the post, those images were originally from Architecture Review and Iconeye. I was merely showcasing a studio project.
Your book sounds awesome, and please be in touch when the book is about to be published!
